Quality is the foundation of everything we do at BTNX Inc. In addition to our internal quality systems and ISO 13485:2016 certification, we participate in proficiency testing program from leading external quality assessment providers, including the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
The College of American Pathologists (CAP) is an organization of board-certified pathologists for laboratory quality assurance worldwide. The CAP offers programs including laboratory accreditation and proficiency testing/external quality assessment (PT/EQA).2 These programs help laboratories measure the accuracy and reliability of their testing processes.3
CAP’s proficiency testing/external quality assessment (PT/EQA) programs allow laboratories to compare their performance against some of the industry’s largest peer groups, reinforcing confidence in test results. PT/EQA provides both individual evaluations and summary reports, giving actionable insights to ensure accurate results, high performance, and educational discussions from scientific committees that enhance staff knowledge and competence.3
CAP’s suite of quality improvement programs helps reduce risk and improve patient outcomes by enabling labs to:
- Benchmark against peers
- Compare instruments and verify calibration
- Assess staff competency
- Strengthen quality initiatives and compliance to accreditation requirements3
- Our laboratory testing process is evaluated not only internally but also externally
- Our test results are compared against other labs that did the same tests
- Discrepancies are identified and corrected in a timely manner
- We continuously improve our methods to stay at the forefront of a rapidly changing industry, with a commitment to advancing patient care.
At BTNX Inc., our participation in CAP reflects more than regulatory adherence but is a proactive approach to quality assurance measures that gives our customers confidence in every Rapid Response® product we offer.
