Our Partnership with AAB

At BTNX Inc., we are committed to providing high quality products backed by extensive research, standing out from competitors and helping you make an easy and confident choice for your health care. That’s why BTNX participates in proficiency testing through the American Association of Bioanalysts, a respected professional association serving clinical laboratories and laboratory professionals in the United States.

What is Proficiency Testing?

Unlike basic internal lab checks, AAB proficiency testing is approved under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA 88) and by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation (COLA), Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Medicare and most state agencies.1

AAB proficiency testing is a comprehensive external quality control program that is updated continuously to meet the needs of evolving techniques and concepts in the modern laboratory.1

All laboratories that perform tests on human specimens are regulated under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA 88). Under these regulations, laboratories are required by law to participate in proficiency testing procedures as an external quality control measure to help ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.2

How does Proficiency Testing Work?
  1. The lab receives specimens of unknown values (blind samples) from a third-party provider.
  2. The lab performs testing on the samples and returns the results.
  3. The provider compares the lab results to other labs that did the same tests.

Proficiency testing plays a key role in monitoring and improving the reliability of laboratory testing by providing as an educational tool for labs to find and take corrective actions to minimize the effect on patient results.2

Our Commitment to Quality

Participating in AAB proficiency testing is an extra layer of quality assurance. Our involvement gives our customers confidence in our products.

Many lab tests rely on internal controls or basic instrument checks but do not provide the same level of independent scientific review that a proficiency testing does.

What Sets BTNX Apart
  • Our laboratory performance is evaluated not only internally but also externally
  • Our test results are compared against other laboratories
  • Any discrepancies are identified and corrected promptly
  • We continually refine our methods to stay at the forefront of accuracy

At BTNX Inc. quality isn’t just a standard, it is our top priority. Combined with our dedication to customer satisfaction, it’s what makes Rapid Response® products a trusted and reliable choice in today’s evolving rapid diagnostic market.
