Faster, cleaner, and observed. Why saliva drug tests are ideal for remote drug testing.
The growth of remote work, virtual treatment programs, and decentralized hiring is driving the demand for remote solutions and reshaping how drug testing is delivered. Traditionally, urine testing can be invasive, time-consuming, and difficult to monitor for authenticity, especially when the sample isn’t collected in view of a proctor. Saliva drug tests offer an alternative option that is non-invasive, efficient, and ideal for remote testing. With a simple and easy sample collection that can be observed live in real-time, it eliminates the need for restroom facilities. Saliva drug testing provides a more secure and hassle-free experience for both providers and participants.
Saliva tests, also known as a mouth swab test or an oral fluid test, offers a simple and easy to administer solution for drug screening. Saliva collection can detect recent drug use and is a less intrusive test format than other sample collections. This drug test format is ideal for monitoring patients under medical care, pre-employment screenings, law enforcement officials for roadside checks, and in other situations where drug use is suspected.
Benefits:
- Sample collection can be directly observed reducing the chance of adulteration.
- Suitable for on-site testing and does not require a bathroom or private settings.
- Up to 24-hour detection window* after recent drug use. *Parameter dependent. Contact us for details.
- Fast results in just a few minutes.
- Analyzes a saliva sample for drugs and their metabolites.
- Uses an absorbent collection swab that is placed in the mouth and the saliva collected is screened for drugs.
The Rapid Response Saliva Test Cup is a rapid drug screening solution that can simultaneously detect multiple drugs in saliva samples, providing results in just 10 minutes. Our test cups are available in a wide range of drug parameter combinations.
The Saliva Test Cup components include a leak-proof cap with a saliva collection swab attached and a saliva collection cup.
Testing Procedure
- Do not place anything in the mouth (including food, drink, gum, and tobacco products) for at least 10 minutes before the test. Drink a glass of water 15-20 minutes before the test begins.
- Accumulate a pool of saliva prior to collection.
- With the saliva collector swab, gently sweep the against the inside of the mouth (cheeks, gums, and tongue) several times to gather saliva. NOTE: Do not touch the sponge on the collector with fingers, bite, suck or chew on the collector.
- Position the saliva collector under the tongue and keep the mouth closed. Hold it in place for 7 minutes. Apply a slight pressure to the sponge to help absorb more of the saliva. IMPORTANT: Do not bite, suck, chew, talk, or remove the collector from the mouth until the indicator strip turns completely red.
- The collection process is complete when 7 minutes have passed. The built-in saturation indicator turns red in the indicator window of the handle indicating sufficient sample (if the color does not appear in the indicator window after 7 minutes, proceed with the test).
- With the head tilted back, gently remove the saliva collector from the mouth. Insert the collector into the saliva collection cup by firmly pressing the collector cap down to the bottom of the cup. Then screw the cap down tightly. IMPORTANT: Do not bite, suck, or chew on the collector when removing from the mouth.
- Keeping the test cup upright, gently tilt the cup towards all faces of the cup to disperse the saliva sample to the base of the test strips. Place the test cup on a flat surface until the test is complete.
- At 10 minutes, remove the peel-able privacy label to reveal the results window. Read the results. Do not interpret results after 20 minutes.
